Online School FAQs

A selection of FAQs about our online school and community hub to help you get started with confidence.

If I Buy A Project Or Course, Can I Keep It?

Absolutely! Once you purchase a project or course, you get lifetime access to the tutorials and resources. Revisit them anytime, forever.

Can I Learn At My Own Pace?

Yes! All our tutorials are self-paced, so you can learn whenever and wherever it suits you. Pause, rewind, and revisit lessons as often as you like – it’s your journey, your pace.

Do the projects come with workshop drawings?

Yes! Alongside the video tutorial, all projects include detailed workshop drawings, a cutting list, and a step-by-step process list. All workshop drawings are provided in metric units.

Is The Content Suitable For International Students?

Absolutely! All tutorials are pre-recorded, so you can learn at your own pace from anywhere in the world. We welcome students globally, and if you can’t join us in person, this is the next best way to learn the techniques and secrets behind making fine furniture to an exceptional standard.

What’s the Difference Between Individual Projects and the Online Courses?

Individual projects are standalone one-time purchases. The Online Course options are also one-time purchases, but include a bundle of the individual projects. The Complete Online Course includes all the individual projects and follows a similar path to the Term 1 syllabus we teach to our Designer Maker students. It’s the most comprehensive and cost-effective way to learn.

Do I Need Prior Experience?

No prior experience is required! Our courses start with foundational skills and gradually build up to more advanced projects. Beginners feel welcome, and experienced makers will find plenty of challenges too.

Can I Access Tutor Support?

Yes! Get expert help with your W&A project work via the Q&A Tutor Support Forum — Available as an add-on for £9.99/Month. Auto-renews until cancelled. Cancel anytime.

Can I Post Questions In The Community Forum?

Yes! The Woodworkers Community Forum is completely free and the best place to post your woodworking questions. Posts there are searchable and won’t get lost in the chatroom feed. As more questions are answered, the forum becomes an increasingly valuable resource for everyone.

What Tools Will I Need?

To start, you just need a sturdy workbench and some basic tools. Our first projects focus on skill-building, and we provide tool recommendations and supplier links to help you get set up.

We recommend reviewing our Tool Requirements Guidance page before purchasing a project or the online course to avoid any surprises.
